¡Marimba!

Can you say, La-La-Latin? Sample some of my marimba talents below. To my dear Mamita, Opa, Mama, and Lucia, gracias for the wonderful new toy. I LOVE it already…but not as much as I love you!!!

Post for Daddy

Dear Daddy,

I miss you very much! I’m having such a good time with my new birthday toys, but it would be even more fun playing with you. I hope you’re having a good time, enjoying friends, and not getting too hot in the desert. Come back soon and safe! I love you tons of lots!

Love,
LB

Happy Birthday to Me

It’s official! I’m one year old today! Thanks to all for the happy birthday wishes, and thanks to my grandparents, Godparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins for making such a great day yesterday. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. Especially eating my first piece of cake…

I know I have seen that face before …

In many ways, LB just amazes me daily.  And then he does something that is very close and dear to me, and I think … “of all the things he could have gotten from me, why? why?”
He has grown so much, changed so much, learned so much … and it has not been a year.

Yes, I am proud of my son, the little (yet bigger) LB.

Really…

Watch until the end. We PROMISE…it’s worth it!!!

Dear Abby,

I hear you have an exciting day coming up…your very own recital. I’m impressed. It’s hard to keep everyone’s attention. I hope you have a great time entertaining them with your piano talents. I wanted to let you know that I’m very sad that I can’t attend. See, it’s my birthday the next day (The BIG 1!). My family is coming over to celebrate this occasion. I really am not sure what that means, except Mommy keeps asking what kind of cake I want. What should I tell her? What’s cake???

Anyway, I really wish I could see you play the piano. I’m just learning, as you can see in the video below. Mommy says I’d be better at it if I’d stop turning the keyboard off when I practice. Maybe we could play together sometime soon? Good luck to you on Sunday!

Love,

LB

The Many Faces of Lima Bean

Trampoline!

A few weeks ago, LB had a grand adventure. He visited his cousin, Little Buchs, and other family and friends for a birthday party. He visited Kouts, Indiana, and enjoyed meeting lots of Grampy’s family. And then he went to visit his buddy Lori D. in Berne. Saw his first Amish buggy–actually he almost missed seeing his first Amish buggy as Amish teens tried to race each other down the street. Oh, and his first group of sweet Amish ladies standing in front of a liquor store. ???

Anyway, another first was getting to play on a trampoline, much to his delight!

Feliz Dia del Niño

Dear LB:

Today in Guatemala we celebrate “Kid’s Day”, we can say it’s a tradition, and since you, my sweet boy, have Guatemalan blood, I thought it would be nice to share this tradition with you, so as we say here in Guatemala: “Feliz Dia del Niño”.  I love you very much, and each day that I receive your pictures my heart and day is filled with joy, which you have brought since the day you were born.

Love you,
Auntie Lucia

PS. Check your front door for something special, it should have arrived today!

Dear Auntie Lucia,

Thank you so much for the gift! I LOVE it! If you click on the link below, you can see just how much! I’ve already mastered putting a few of the shapes in, but I’ve got a lot more to practice. Thanks for thinking of me on this special day for kids in Guatemala. I love you very much. And I want you to visit. And I want you to bring Mama, Mamita, and Opa. And I want you to stay. And I want to give you hugs and pat you on the back. And I want to show you how big I’m getting. And I want to show you how I can walk a little bit.

And now I’m so tired. Goodnight! And thanks again!

I love you very much,
L.B.
