In many ways, LB just amazes me daily. And then he does something that is very close and dear to me, and I think … “of all the things he could have gotten from me, why? why?”
He has grown so much, changed so much, learned so much … and it has not been a year.
Yes, I am proud of my son, the little (yet bigger) LB.
Yep, my clothes are too big! Kids’ clothes are strange that way. I can still fit in a few of my three month fashions, but lately mom’s been breaking out some nine month items to add to the old wardrobe. Regardless, I’m pretty darn cute. I’m sure I’ll grow into these soon enough! Have a great day!
Exactly when in the course of our lives does sleeping like this become uncomfortable?? Look at that cutie bootie! 
Well, we’re already at the end of my first week of summer break. What do I have to show for it? Hmmm, a baby that loves to crawl, a half-empty classroom (yep…moving rooms AGAIN), a much more organized nursery with a lowered crib mattress, and a shiny Teacher Leadership Academy plaque. Oh, and pictures. Lots of pictures!!!
There’s a reason that I bust my hump 10 months of the year to teach, plan, grade, organize, learn, and grow towards perfecting my craft…

So this evening, as I was playing with Lima Bean, I picked him up to play Superbaby over my head. As a fleeting thought of, “He’s just recently eaten,” dashed through my consciousness, I looked up to see a stream of white liquid pouring down towards my face.
I’d been slimed…by LB’s spit up.
But no worries…I’m still in amore with him. Enrique, Lucia, and I got a big laugh as the two of them ran to rescue me with towels and hands to hold the baby.
By the way, spit up REALLY stings the eyes. I don’t recommend it.
Enrique assures me this will be most amusing to his family, considering his own baby-hood!
Like mother like son, too, I suppose…now that’s more like it! Ha!
No, not the baby! Today is our 4th anniversary. Wow…seems like I’ve known Enrique for so much longer.
God has blessed us with so many wonderful times together, likely the best of which is this amazing creature LB who has enchanted and enriched our lives beyond measure. We’ve had our share of rough times, as all couples do…probably most notably these recent times…but then we look at our sweet little baby and all the worries of the world melt away, and we remember what’s really important in life. God. Love. Each other. All of you.
On this very special day, we thank the Lord for each other, and for our blessed LB, and for each of you. We appreciate your love and care.
