Why Mommy has to keep buying extra toilet paper

Other funnies today:

  • LB so exhausted playing tonight that a little roughhousing continually left him face down on the floor giggling.
  • Daddy disciplining LB by sternly saying his name repeatedly to get him to stop playing with the blinds. LB simply turning, grinning, and waving back at Daddy.
  • LB trying to wait patiently in his high chair as Daddy and Mommy finish dinner. Although he was fussing with a pacifier in his mouth, he determined a piece of strawberry might still be enjoyable, and proceeded to try to put it in his mouth already occupied with said paci.

Video disclaimer

So for a few posts below this, we have posted videos. With family that lives far, far away, this is a great way to get a glimpse of LB at his finest! I know the videos can be long, but hopefully you’ll find time to enjoy these at your leisure. Thanks for keeping up with us and LB’s newest developments! We’re glad you’re here!

Today’s predicament

So little LB is a climbing fool! I recently uncovered the “lid” to part of his toybox where all his books are, and he wanted to get up close and personal by climbing right in. Voila! Baby in a box. He’s having a dandy time. Meanwhile, Daddy and I stand back and laugh and remember a time when our family room didn’t look like a tornado just blew through. Fun times!!!

It’s never too early

To learn how to sort laundry. A cute how-to video starring LB, as well as a special 30th birthday present to Lucia.

Learning so much…all the time

I am constantly amazed by how babies learn so much and grow so quickly. LB has recently gotten to the stage where he’d much rather feed himself than have me spoon feed him. Which is just now starting to be fine, as he’s just now mastering the finer points of actually getting a bit of food into his mouth via utensil. Eating is a daily adventure around here, and I’m sure it’s only going to get crazier and messier. Here he is demonstrating some of his fine dinner-eating skills:

If you’re feeling blue

All you need to do is watch this peek-a-boo video by LB. His little laugh is bound to make your day!

Look, Ma! No hands!

Um, yeah. He’s standing!! All by himself!! Happens more and more frequently these days, and happily in front of the cell phone camera today. Look out, world! Steps can’t be too far away!

“Helping” Mommy

Papers, papers everywhere! What kind of teacher assigns all these papers?!

Finally done with all that junk. Now I can relax and take a gander at my books.

10-Month Update

Lima Bean turned 10 months old earlier this week. For some reason, that seems really close to one year to me. Much closer than, say, 9 months did.

In honor of this occasion, Friday was a check-up day. A nine-month check-up, ha! We’ve gotten a whole month behind in our well-baby visits, but I’m sure that’s pretty common.

Turns out LB continues to be in fine health! Yay! And there were no shots with this visit, much to my immense pleasure (I’m sure as well as LB’s). Just had some questions about feeding for our little guy, as he’s really growing tired of the whole mom-feeding-me-with-a-spoon routine and really wanting to feed himself. We’re in the clear to add just about anything to his diet besides peanut butter and honey. This is sure to be an exciting time!

And it also turns out that LB is taking after his cousin Little Buchs and getting long and lean! He hasn’t gained much weight since his last check-up, but the doctor is not worried…just encouraging feedings whenever Lima Bean is hungry. I attribute a little of it to his lack of desire to eat at daycare, a situation which is kind of solving itself as LB becomes more accustomed to Educare.

We’re up to 7 teeth and a completely full head of hair. I just broke out some of our 12-month clothes, as we’re finding a lot of what we put on LB in the morning is stretched to its limits. LB is still crawling up a storm, cruising around the furniture, and pretty confident to walk from one item of furniture to the next as long as he’s still touching something. He’s also got a whole new realm of toys to discover and play with at Educare, and I know he’s excited  to play with those each weekday.

I feel that one-year mark sneaking up on us…I know it’s going to be here in a wink. Gotta hold tight to these times!!!
