We enjoyed a beautiful trip to Chicago this weekend to visit with my friends from Valpo and their families. This was LB’s first big car trip, and needless to say, we were well-prepared (read: so much crap in the Accord we almost couldn’t fit the baby in the car). He was quite the traveler! We enjoyed catching up with our friends, visiting Brookfield Zoo, and playing at the local playground. It was also great to see all the various kids playing together! I know LB will enjoy getting to know them even better as he grows.
LB also did a great job staying in a hotel for the first time. This bodes will for future trips for us. Yay! He slept quite nicely in the hotel pack-and-play despite the Arctic-blast-AC and snoring mommy close by.
We even had enough time to stop by and visit our Chicago cousin LB, Josh, and Karen. They were busily preparing for Sunday Night Dinner, but let us come and take a pit-stop and lunch-break for our little one. It was really good to see them again and take a gander at their baby-fied place.
So here’s to the Krohse-Popps for hosting a fine weekend, and for our first successful road trip. World, here we come!
