What an awesome time with the Limas!

Two weeks really fly by fast. Edwin, Blanqui, and Lucia came to visit and see how much growing LB was up to. A grand time was had by all! Can you guys come back again next month???

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Well lookey what happens when Lima Bean and Daddy get to goofing around in front of the mirror!

No, that’s not a hat. You’ve got it…it’s a onesie on his head! He’s pretty darn proud of himself.

Even cuter that he’s reaching out to touch his new look-alike friend.

Okay Mommy. We’ll stop playing and come for dinner.

Guess what?

I’m six months old today! Can you believe it? I can…guess what I’ve been up to…

  • Still growing out of all my clothes
  • Still working on sleeping through the night, but I still need a middle of the night feeding
  • Laughing
  • Chatting (my new favorite word is “Ahbwah.” Say it with me, “Ahbwah!” Very good!)
  • Eating my first foods
  • Sitting up
  • Falling over to reach for toys and finding myself in lots of fun new positions
  • Chewing on everything
  • Shrieking
  • Being the absolute joy and light in my parents’ lives (and probably my grandparents’ too!)

Now I know a lot of you haven’t seen me in full-on laugh mode. I am full of smiles, but it takes that little extra something special to make me laugh. Like Daddy kicking Max’s play cube. Take a look…

And by the way, I also am learning how to play soccer. Handy that my Guatemalan family is here with me now. They’re experts at soccer. Here is Mamita helping me learn…

I’m sure I’ll be doing many more things in the next 6 months. Hopefully I’ll have had lots more fun with my cousin, the other LB, and my new cousin to come in September. Thanks for visiting my blog and watching me grow. I love you!

Mmmmm…bananas

My first bites of real food! Fresh, smashed banana. I LOVE this stuff! Daddy was very patient feeding me, too. Now I look with longing at everything in the kitchen, hoping for more bites for me!

Spit Up

“When the spit hits your eye
Like a big pizza pie,
That’s amore…”

So this evening, as I was playing with Lima Bean, I picked him up to play Superbaby over my head. As a fleeting thought of, “He’s just recently eaten,” dashed through my consciousness, I looked up to see a stream of white liquid pouring down towards my face.

I’d been slimed…by LB’s spit up.

But no worries…I’m still in amore with him. Enrique, Lucia, and I got a big laugh as the two of them ran to rescue me with towels and hands to hold the baby.

By the way, spit up REALLY stings the eyes. I don’t recommend it.

Heathen no more

Well, we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful time at church yesterday as LB made his Lutheran debut. He was quite a hit, and I believe he now has several pseudo-grandmas-and-grandpas vying to hold him any given Sunday. He also got to visit with Mommy and Daddy’s Kindergarten/1st grade Sunday School Class. They were wide-eyed as they met their new little church friend.

LB was quite well-behaved during the service, letting his friends Marcia and Randy hold him for a while so we could listen to the sermon. After church, a proud Grandpa Wes showed him off to one and all.

We look forward to next weekend’s Easter Vigil!

{I hope you had a great weekend like I did!

Love, LB}

Like father, like son

Enrique assures me this will be most amusing to his family, considering his own baby-hood! :-)

Like mother like son, too, I suppose…now that’s more like it! Ha!

4 Years Old!

No, not the baby! Today is our 4th anniversary. :-) Wow…seems like I’ve known Enrique for so much longer.

God has blessed us with so many wonderful times together, likely the best of which is this amazing creature LB who has enchanted and enriched our lives beyond measure. We’ve had our share of rough times, as all couples do…probably most notably these recent times…but then we look at our sweet little baby and all the worries of the world melt away, and we remember what’s really important in life. God. Love. Each other. All of you.

On this very special day, we thank the Lord for each other, and for our blessed LB, and for each of you. We appreciate your love and care.
